Why
Miss the Mark -- Write a Better Book, Part 1
For unpublished non-fiction writers, or authors who want to improve
Good
planning, and good positive thinking can do many things for your
non-fiction book: It creates opportunity, solves problems, provides
valuable information, makes you and/or your business known, and
generates revenue.
Do
you want to have to tools to help you master the process of good
writing? Do you want to improve your writing, everyday? If the answer
is yes, and yes, then you need to engage in a process that will
improve your writing skills.
What
you put into your research impacts the results of your finished book.
Read magazines, and books, view videos, and listen to tapes esoteric
to your topic. Interview professionals, who know more than you do, in
the field of your subject.
Locate
a place which you find comfortable, as far as lighting, and sound,
with appealing surroundings, a place where you can research, and
explore your ideas, and put them into words.
Set
a time and the number of hours you will work on your book each day.
Do take the necessary breaks of eating, etc., and breaks to refresh
yourself. Remember, revising over and over doesn’t improve your
output, and is a frustrating waste of valuable time. Constantly
doing revisions is a major reason many writers never finish their
books; avoid revisions.
