Biz Tip of The Day: Good etiquette goes a long way. It is a matter of good manners, courtesy, and common sense. Let's get personal since business contacts happen between people. It has happened to all of us on the phone, so please get used to covering the mouthpiece, turning away, or putting a call on hold when you cough, or sneeze. It is amazing how many don't do these things, on both ends of the telephone, I might add. It's probably not necessary to mention not chewing gum, or food while engaged in conversation on the telephone.

Did you notice that almost everything discussed about telephone etiquette, can also be used in person, face to face, just as effectively? Don't sell it short, either, in your intra-office relationships. Good etiquette goes a very long way, and should be used in every phase of your business.
