Biz Tip of The Day: Be Action Oriented

Biz tip of the day: Be action oriented. Successful founders are proactive and always "differentiating ourselves from our competitors," said responders of a survey. They were less worried than other small business owners about the state of the economy, and more likely to look at adversity as "a kick in the rear to help you move forward," Said Mark D. Wolf, Director, Guardian Life Small Business Research Institute at Guardian Life Insurance, plus: "Success-oriented small business owners are a special breed of highly motivated, caring and curious individuals. They effectively balance their personal and business goals, take advantage of others' expertise and continually seek to learn the best practices exhibited by peer companies."

Biz Tip of The Day: Get Tech-savvy

Biz tip of the day: Get tech-savvy. Perhaps not surprisingly, the best small business owners invest time and money on their company's website and are likely to rely a great deal on technology to help make their business more effective and efficient. Facebook can be used, for example, to keep customers and prospects informed about special specials, and company news.

You can initially use an e-mail survey to your database to find out how each contact would like to communicate. It could be by Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn. Let them decide, so you don't waste your time and efforts. They should all have access to your blog, and website.

Use social media to drive business to your website to purchase your product or program.

Biz tip of the day: Trustworthiness is a must to be a successful entrepreneur. Keeping promises and trusting others demonstrate sought after traits in those we deal with. Biz tip of the day: Do research to find the best networkers in your surrounding area. Check your city business journal and newspapers to learn when and where networking groups meet. Be sure they fit your niche. Gain networking confidence by networking often. One a week is most effective. In person networking does not take the place of Online networking, which should be at play on a daily basis. You know the most popular, right now, which are Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIN.

Biz Tip of The Day: Can You Name One Business With a Rock Solid Balance Sheet?

Biz tip of the day: Can you name one business with a rock solid balance sheet? One is Bed Bath & Beyond, which has 45,000 employees and is debt-free. One thing they have been doing is holding back profits to reinvest is its own stock. While this practice may be scorned by politicians and shareholders, sometimes it's a smart business move. In case of a recession, investors can feel secure that such a company will probably not be filing for bankruptcy.

Biz Tip of The Day: Are You Unsure of the Path Forward to Growing Your Business?

Biz tip of the day: Are you unsure of the path forward to growing your business? Here's how you can unlock that potential: 4 Steps to Super-size Your Growth:

Never stop learning from others mistakes. successes, and knowledge. Even the most successful, such as Henry Ford and Sam Walton continually picked the brains of those at every level who actually did the jobs they were interested in improving upon. These two men and many others left a legacy for all to learn from.

But, stop, and think. What if nothing were ever written about their endeavors for us to draw from? What a scary thought. I am thankful for their and other successful peoples hundreds of quotes, insights, and books written by them, and about them. These are the major ways we can learn from their successes and failures.

Create you own legacy in writing for your family members, clients, and for the world to learn from. You may not realize how unique your storehouse of knowledge and expertise is until you actually start putting it into writing to share. Also, the rewards could be endless with the possibility of opening new doors of opportunity for you, which can greatly improve your personal and business status.

Biz Tip of The Day: Programs Producing Sought After Results

Biz tip of the day: Programs producing sought after results are better than selling a one-time session, which gives little time and input to get good, desired resultsfor both you, and your participants. One-time sessions are usually not as cost-effective for you as a full program would be. Remember, over time in several sessions, you are building a relationship of trust.

Biz Tip of The Day: Learn to Manage Your Time

Biz tip of the day: Learn to manage your time. Schedule important tasks in your day planner on paper, or electronically. Others appreciate your following through, as promised, and being on time for appointments, and commitments. This may seem basic, but many of us need reminding in order to fine-tune our business relations so we can close more sales, and increase the bottom line of our business. When we are too rushed, or late we have already set the stage for a disgruntled prospect from the get go.

B. C. Forbes

No, I wouldn't go as far as Mr. Forbes did, but I would advise you not to hesitate to start writing your first compelling story of how you got started in your business. Tell about your successes by overcoming obstacles. Demonstrate your problem-solving abilities. Also, tell about your expertise, and how you can better help your targeted audience than your competition can. Biz Tip of The Day: When You Ar Passionate About What You Do You Are no Longer Nervous

Biz tip of the day: When you are passionate about what you do you are no longer nervous talking about what you are selling. If you find that you are not passionate about your business, perhaps it is time for a change to something you are passionate about. You have to believe in what you are selling. In all fairness, for the benefit of those you are selling to, if you don't believe in it, then switch to a producr, or to another company you believe in.

Biz Tip of The Day: Create an Informational E-zine or E-newsletter to Attract Clinets

Biz tip of the day: Create an informational e-zine, or e-newsletter to attract clients. This is an excellent way to keep up your Top of the Mind Awareness (TOMA) for whenever they may need your services, not only now, but down the road. Just because they are not buying today, doesn't mean they won't need your product, or services in six months or a year. And, when they do, your vigilant TOMA messages will bring you to mind first. That's the plan.

Biz Tip of The Day: Write Conversationally When You Write E-mails, Blogs

Biz tip of the day: Write conversationally when you write e-mails, blogs, articles, e-zines, letters, ads, or a book, or you will lose the reader, or viewer. Headlines are key, and have to grab the attention of the reader/viewer immediately.

Avoid lengthy explanations when a short one will do the job. Tie in a constant color scheme, logo, and tagline so that your 'brand' will sink in over time after several exposures.

Biz Tip of The Day: Offer Flat Fee Packages With no Hidden Charges

Biz tip of the day: Offer flat fee packages with no hidden charges. But, after the initial sale, do up-sell to newer additions, or higher end programs, or packages along the way. There are two ways to up-sell to alternative, newer, better, more expensive program/packages you offer.

First, when the client is finished with the program purchased, you may up-sell to another higher priced program/package that fits their needs.

Secondly, it is possible that the client realized, after a period of time, that your least expensive program/package purchased does not fit their needs as well as a more expensive one offered. In this case, you would be wise to accommodate the client by deducting the cost of the lower priced one, and up-selling to the more expensive desired one.

It would be a good selling point, making the client fell more secure in doing business with you, to offer such as up-grade option up front on the first purchase.

Biz Tip of The Day: Laziness is a Big Problem in Sales

Biz tip of the day:
Laziness is a big problem in sales. Complacency, and a general lack of enthusiasm can set in without the right kind of supervision. Create competition among your sales people by setting standards, and some realistic quotas. Have friendly competition with prizes for incentive. Meet with your sales force often for input, and feedback. Get involved with them. Make them feel they are part of a team, important to the success the business, and making the profit needed to maintain their salaries, and benefits for everyone employed.

When shopping a storefront, don't you just hate it when a salesperson points to where you should look for an item half way across the store? Or, they say, “Well, if you didn't see it, then we must be out of it.” Or, like I had happen yesterday in a furniture store when I asked why one accessory item was $19.95, and the other identical one was $39.95, and got this answer, “I don't know.” The sales lady did not offer to check.

You can see how important training is. The lack of proper training is another major problem in sales. Set up some possible scenarios, and have your sales people act them out. It should be second nature to hear such responses as, “It's my pleasure,” "Please follow me and I will show you the different items we have for you to choose from.” Such modified training works equally as well for those in outside sales, too.

Biz Tip of the Day: Procrastination is Passe, Action Now is in

Biz tip of the day: Procrastination is passe, Action Now is in. Procrastination is a sure way to lose business to your competitor. Many entrepreneurs are stuck in the status quo, so it can be easy to attract customers by being on top of your game at all levels in your business.Oftentimes that little bit of extra effort gives you the edge needed over your competitor.

Biz Tip of the Day: Work on Your Voice-mail Message

Biz tip of the day: Work on your voice-mail message with a smile on you face, so it doesn't come out sounding canned, or much like a form letter. Even irritating customers can be turned around with good service, and lots of attention.

Some people don't realize that the phone starts ringing after the correct number of digits (letters) is reached, and feeding in more after that does not interrupt the ringing. I had a concerned customer point out to me that the letters exceeded the number of digits required in a phone number. Anyway, it works out, and is a good thing.

Biz Tip of The Day: Don't Hate Big Business

Biz tip of the day: Don't hate big business. Your business could be one of their many venders, or even supporting one of their venders.

When one big nearby business closed, 8 small businesses closed as a result, that I know about. Our country needs both big and small businesses in order to save, and build our economy. It is about keeping businesses open, encouraging new entrepreneurs into successful business ventures. The ultimate goal is to hire more employees, and create prosperity. This is something unique to the private sector; something government needs to give us the freedom to do.
