Biz Tip of The Day: Send Press Releases to Newspapers

Biz tip of the day: Send press releases to newspapers anytime something significant happens within your company, such as, when someone is promoted, or changes jobs, you introduce a new product, or you are having a seminar which is open to the public. Your could offer an incentive for people to attend a seminar. Say, call this number and ask for a free coupon, or any other legitimate gimmick to entice them. See www.usnpl.com for a list of newspapers, natonwide. It's a good place to start.

Some columnists will describe your product in detail in their syndicated column if it is of interest to them. They are always on the lookout for new products to write about. Just think of the millions of people you could reach if such an interest were taken in what you are selling.

Write a book about your company, market it Online, and in other media.
    It will increase your business,
and put you on the map:

Biz Tip of The Day: Picture Your Targeted Prospect When Writing Copy

Biz tip of the day: Picture your targeted prospect when writing copy for any kind of ad, for any kind of product, or program you sell. Pick out, and visualize that most typical customer. Visualize a real person, you have had personal dealings with.

Write your ad as if you are writing it to appeal to that customer. Should your business be strictly Online, you can still visualize your ideal customer from Online dialogue you have had with them. It is a must that you are in touch with your ideal client's desires, wants, and needs. Whenever you allow yourself to play this out you will write a better ad. Pictures are worth a thousand words, and this 'picture' you will translate into copy that sells better.

Imagination, and a certain amount of training, or self-training is necessary to write good copy. It seems to come easy for some, and others may have to work at it. Don't be shy, if there is someone else in your company who can do it better than you may be able to, by all means enlist them to write the copy. Don't hesitate, delegate. In time, through observation, and training, you may surpass that talented person.

Biz Tip of The Day: The "AIDA" Formula is good

Biz tip of the day: The “AIDA” formula is good for direct mail copy, as well as any other kind of advertising:

    A-ttention

    I-nterest

    D-sire

    A-ction

You can follow a formula and still make it sound spontaneous.

Biz Tip of The Day: Starting a Mail Order Business

Biz Tip of The Day: Starting a Mail Order Business

Biz tip of the day: Starting a mail order business is best started with perfecting the sale of one product, and branch out from there. Selling unique, or popular household items is a good place to start.

You could start out Online, with an e-catalog, and then go on to a printed catalog. Build a database of physical mailing addresses for the printed catalog, and one for e-mail addresses. Remember, the only time success appears before work is in the dictionary.

Biz Tip of The Day: Magazine vs. Newspaper Ads

Biz tip of the day: Magazine vs. newspaper ads have to be considered for your needs. Newspaper ads are better for quick returns. About half your total orders are in within the week following a Sunday ad. The balance usually comes in by the end of the second week.

Magazines usually produce a bigger return on investment, (ROI) however, it takes longer. A top magazine will produce approximately half its returns the first month, and the balance will probably trickle in a month later. People hang on to magazines, so an order could show up a year later. Be sure whatever media you choose for advertising, that it goes mostly to your targeted audience. If you are selling cigarette lighters shaped like little pistols, for example, you wouldn't advertise them in a woman's magazine; you would advertise them in a gun magazine. Always also advertise Online with a professional looking website, and branch out with apps, and social media.
