Biz Tip of The Day: Talk About Turning Negative into Positive

Biz tip of the day: Talk about turning negative into positive:

I have always been pushed by the negative.... The apparent failure of a play sends me back to my typewriter that very night, before the reviews are out. I am more compelled to get back to work than if I had a success

Tennessee Williams

An American playwrite who worked principally in the American theater. He wrote short stories, novels, poetry, essays, screenplays. Awarded the Tony Award; Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Biz Tip of The Day: How Many Crises Have You Overcome?

Biz tip of the day: How many crises have you overcome? How many problem have you solved? Who was instrumental in helping you, or did you do it all alone?

When you write a book about the struggles you have faced and overcome in getting where you are today, it will attract and keep more clients, and help grow your business.

Great occasions do not make heroes or cowards; they simply unveil them to the eyes of men. Silently and imperceptibly, as we wake or sleep, we grow strong or weak; and at last some crisis shows what we have become.

Biz tip of the day: Remember to log on to the brain when signed into the computer.

Had there been a computer a hundred years ago, it would probably have predicted that by now there would be so many horse-drawn vehicles it would be impossible to clear up all the manure

Biz tip of the day: Following you bliss is where it's at – that's what Adam Smith really means in his following quote:
By pursuing his own interest (the individual) frequently promotes that of the society more effectually than when he really intends to promote it. I have never known much good done by those who affected to trade for the public good

Biz Tip of The Day: Don't Hate Big Business

Biz tip of the day: Don't hate big business. Your business could be one of their many venders, or even supporting one of their venders.

When one big nearby business closed, 8 small businesses closed as a result, that I know about. Our country needs both big and small businesses in order to save, and build our economy. It is about keeping businesses open, encouraging new entrepreneurs into successful business ventures. The ultimate goal is to hire more employees, and create prosperity. This is something unique to the private sector; something government needs to give us the freedom to do.

Big business is basic to the very life of this country; and yet many - perhaps most - Americans have a deep-seated fear and an emotional repugnance to it. Here is monumental contradiction

Biz Tip of The Day: Four Things You Need to Know About Your Cell Phone

Biz tip of the day: Four Things you need to know about your Cell Phone

FIRST (Emergency)

The Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile is 112. If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile network and there is an Emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly, this number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked. Try it out.

SECOND (Hidden Battery Power)

Imagine your cell battery is very low. To activate, press the keys *3370#. Your cell phone will restart with this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your cell phone next time.

THIRD (How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone? )

To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following Digits on your phone:
*#06# .

A 15-digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe.

If your phone is stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either. If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.

And Finally....

FORTH (Free Directory Service for Cells)

Cell phone companies are charging us $1.00 to $1.75 or more for 411 information calls when they don't have to. Most of us do not carry a telephone directory in our vehicle, which makes this situation even more of a problem. When you need to use the 411 information option, simply dial:

(800) FREE411 or (800) 373-3411 without incurring any charge at all. Program this into your cell phone now.

Biz Tip of The Day: Send Press Releases to Newspapers

Biz tip of the day: Send press releases to newspapers anytime something significant happens within your company, such as, when someone is promoted, or changes jobs, you introduce a new product, or you are having a seminar which is open to the public. Your could offer an incentive for people to attend a seminar. Say, call this number and ask for a free coupon, or any other legitimate gimmick to entice them. See www.usnpl.com for a list of newspapers, natonwide. It's a good place to start.

Some columnists will describe your product in detail in their syndicated column if it is of interest to them. They are always on the lookout for new products to write about. Just think of the millions of people you could reach if such an interest were taken in what you are selling.

Write a book about your company, market it Online, and in other media.
    It will increase your business,
and put you on the map:

Biz Tip of The Day: Picture Your Targeted Prospect When Writing Copy

Biz tip of the day: Picture your targeted prospect when writing copy for any kind of ad, for any kind of product, or program you sell. Pick out, and visualize that most typical customer. Visualize a real person, you have had personal dealings with.

Write your ad as if you are writing it to appeal to that customer. Should your business be strictly Online, you can still visualize your ideal customer from Online dialogue you have had with them. It is a must that you are in touch with your ideal client's desires, wants, and needs. Whenever you allow yourself to play this out you will write a better ad. Pictures are worth a thousand words, and this 'picture' you will translate into copy that sells better.

Imagination, and a certain amount of training, or self-training is necessary to write good copy. It seems to come easy for some, and others may have to work at it. Don't be shy, if there is someone else in your company who can do it better than you may be able to, by all means enlist them to write the copy. Don't hesitate, delegate. In time, through observation, and training, you may surpass that talented person.

Biz Tip of The Day: The "AIDA" Formula is good

Biz tip of the day: The “AIDA” formula is good for direct mail copy, as well as any other kind of advertising:

    A-ttention

    I-nterest

    D-sire

    A-ction

You can follow a formula and still make it sound spontaneous.

Biz Tip of The Day: Starting a Mail Order Business

Biz tip of the day: Starting a mail order business is best started with perfecting the sale of one product, and branch out from there. Selling unique, or popular household items is a good place to start.

You could start out Online, with an e-catalog, and then go on to a printed catalog. Build a database of physical mailing addresses for the printed catalog, and one for e-mail addresses. Remember, the only time success appears before work is in the dictionary.

Biz Tip of The Day: Magazine vs. Newspaper Ads

Biz tip of the day: Magazine vs. newspaper ads have to be considered for your needs. Newspaper ads are better for quick returns. About half your total orders are in within the week following a Sunday ad. The balance usually comes in by the end of the second week.

Magazines usually produce a bigger return on investment, (ROI) however, it takes longer. A top magazine will produce approximately half its returns the first month, and the balance will probably trickle in a month later. People hang on to magazines, so an order could show up a year later. Be sure whatever media you choose for advertising, that it goes mostly to your targeted audience. If you are selling cigarette lighters shaped like little pistols, for example, you wouldn't advertise them in a woman's magazine; you would advertise them in a gun magazine. Always also advertise Online with a professional looking website, and branch out with apps, and social media.

Biz tip of the day: Use an attention getting headline in your ads. A change in your ad headline can often mean the difference between success and failure of the ad. Given all the many factors involved, if you haven't been able to get it right, there are mail order advertising services you can enlist, plus other types of advertising agencies to fit your particular needs.

Biz Tip of The Day: Writing is Good Therapy

Biz tip of the day: Writing is good therapy when you have a business problem to work through, or a new plan you are thinking of implementing. When done correctly it clarifies whatever it is that you are contemplating.

Make a list of all of the pros and cons of the situation. Write down all of your fears. Write the outcome you are hoping for, and how you can achieve your goals. List all the employees/partners/board members you need to involve, and what you expect from each in order to get the job done. Even if you should scrap the idea, or plan, at least your mind will be put at ease, knowing that you thoroughly examined it before scraping it. The therapy part is being worry-free at the end of the day.

This works just as well in your private life decisions, as well.

If you have contemplated writing a book, consider this: Don't put off you dream of writing, and publishing your first non-fiction book to tell your story, and to boost your business. Use the same formula of writing all the pros and cons down on paper to get yourself pointed in direction of realizing your dream. Then, please check out our programs to select the one right for you. Biz Tip of The Day: Hook Up With a No-fee Broker

Biz tip of the day: Hook up with a no-fee stock broker, or money handler, According to advice from both Suse Orman and Jim Kramer. In other words, look for one who does not charge for each transaction. You will save a lot, because a no-fee broker won't be making numerous trades on your behalf just to rack up his fees. If you do purchase stocks, try to invest in Dividend Reinvestment Plan (DRIP stocks). All of your dividends go back into buying more of the same stock. It is amazing how this plan might stack up and pay off in the long run. It is a good idea to read several books on investments before going off half cocked.

Biz Tip of The Day: Businesses Should Seek Out a good CPA

Biz tip of the day: Businesses should seek out a good CPA, (No, I don't mean a car parking attendant). Every business should hire a good, reasonable Certified Public Accountant. Ask around. You simply must have a reliable CPA, since tax rules are so complicated, and they change every year on top of that. We don't want to tick off any governmental agency, let alone the IRS, or the SEC (Securities Exchange Commission). The SEC is even more feared by some than the IRS.

Roth IRAs and Roth 401Ks vs. conventional IRAs and 401Ks: Mainly the ROTH is free of taxes after retirement. There are a lot more pluses to research for yourself before signing up for one of these. Biz Tip of The Day: Check Out www.HearUsNow.org for Online Reviews

Biz Tip of The Day: Check out www.HearUsNow.org for online reviews for venders you are considering using. Should all the reviews be too glowing, move down the list. It is common practice for the reviewed company (on their own websites) to move the best reviews up to the first page, putting the most negative ones toward the end. In the same vein, be aware that anyone can pay a search engine such as Google to have their name, or company name come up first, or near the first on the first search page.

One company with extremely good reviews was recently fined $250,000 for paying people to write rave reviews. Lots of businesses get family and friends to write glowing reviews for them. You will learn more in time to learn to tell the difference between what is, and what isn't legitimate. Take time to check out the poster's reviews on other companies. It is a good clue that the poster may be a paid reviewer, if all posts are in the same verbiage.
