Biz tip of the day:
Continued
from yesterday ...
Submit
press-releases or news to the news department of newspapers,
but to the editorial
department if it is a magazine. Faxes are preferred or e-mail rather
than snail mail. Snail mail is not as timely in our point-and-click world
today. Artistic liberties aren't just taken in the Hollywood:
journalists also feel compelled to alter your copy, so don't fret over it.
Jump right in. Usually, they had rather deal with your company or
organization rather than a PR agency.
Press-release
publicity is free, and keep in mind it carries more credibility than
paid for advertising.
Don't be shy, always ask for editorial coverage first, before paying for advertising. It can be presented as a precondition before placing a paid ad.
