Tip of The Day: “Buzz Your Business & Be The Best”
time-saving tips:
A
chapter 2 excerpt from “Buzz Your Business” by Marguerite
Cavanaugh:
In
order to keep from becoming overwhelmed, write down tasks on
individual index cards, so you can easily prioritize them into
“Action for Today,” and “Action for Tomorrow.” When
tomorrow rolls around, do the same thing again.
About twenty
percent of what you have planned to do is most important on your
list. Apply the Pareto principle. We know it as the Eighty/Twenty
Rule of Thumb. It was originated by Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto
in the nineteenth century. He observed how eighty percent of the
results came from twenty percent of effort. The principle can be
applied to a multitude of things in different ways. One such example
is: When a carpet is vacuumed, about eighty percent of the dirt
picked up is likely to come from twenty percent of the carpet,
namely, the high traffic area.
The
above is an excerpt from my new book.
