Go from writing your book to thriving as an author, first let me explain the difference between a writer, and an author.

A writer is someone who writes, whether it is articles, a blog, or a manuscript. An author is a writer who has had their manuscript published. An author has a book that can be bought from a bookseller. An author is able to hold their published book in their hands, and has the satisfaction of knowing that their work has been published. An author is considered an authority on their topic. And by the way, do you know that the first six letters in authority, spells author?

The following is an account of what it felt like for an author friend of mine to see her name on the cover of her book for the first time on a Barnes and Noble shelf.

Most are familiar with the fear of failure, but the fear of success often goes unrecognized. When you succeed, your life changes, and that can be scary to deal with. As a coach, I often work with clients who have become so comfortable in their daily routine, that the slightest change unnerves them. Once they learn how to overcome that false premise; it is amazing to watch them grow personally, and professionally.
