Biz tip of the Day: “We're Unique”

Biz tip of the Day: “We're unique.” It is better to describe what you can do for your clients that may give them something unique to use in their business to get more clients, or get free publicity. Be the company that helps them create that something special, then they'll figure out that you are unique in what you do, apart from the guys downtown.

Tip of the Day: Don't Tell Me You Have a “Proven track record”

Tip of the Day: Don't tell me you have a “Proven track record” because almost every company has some kind of a track record. Supply me with facts and figures instead. Share rates, on-time performance, or success percentages. Prove your track record by listing your achievements. If you don’t have a proven track record you can detail, then don't mention it at all.

Chances are you do have a good track record worth writing about.

Biz Tip of the Day: Everyone Who Meets a Need is a “Service Provider”

Biz Tip of the Day: Everyone who meets a need is a “Service Provider.” When I get my car repaired by a mechanic, he provides a service:  I need a mechanic and his business provides it.  “Service provider” means nothing. If you sell gas, tell me you sell gas.  If you design commercial office spaces, tell me you design commercial office spaces.

If you’re a Social Network company, fine — just use plain language to let me know what you really do.

Biz Tip of the Day: You Don't Have to Be All About Innovation

Biz Tip of the Day: You Don't Have to Be All About Innovation. Most companies have worn out the phrase, “We are innovative.” Make it known that you use tried and true methods proven to work for your clients, along with some of your own innovative ideas that work well. If you describe products, or systems you have developed that work, customers will know you are innovative.

Better still, when you reduce it to story form in a book with your name on it, now you have something that works to sell for you.

Biz Tip of the Day: Craft Your Ideal Client Profile

Biz Tip of the Day: Craft your ideal client profile. There are several things that universally constitute an ideal client:
  • Those you really enjoy working with
  • Those who need your help, a lot
  • Those who recognize that working with you is essential
  • Those who can easily be identified and contacted
  • Those who will happily pay what you are worth, without negotiating
  • Those who will get great results from working with you, & will write testimonials to prove it
  • Those who recognize your unique abilities & will tell others and keep referring clients to you.

Biz Tip of the Day: Create Credibility

Biz Tip of the Day: Create credibility. Create a list of credibility factors. What are some credibility factors? You may have written a book on a subject, have specific knowledge or background on something that comes easily for you. You may have created some sort of successful system, become a sought after speaker on the subject, taken yourself, or someone else out a a certain type of situation quickly and successfully. You may have worked for more than 15 or 20 years in a field giving you far more experience than most competitors.

Think about it. Don't sell yourself short. The average salesperson doesn't do much to sell themselves, or their products, so all you have to do is to make a little more effort to out shine the rest. Imagine if you went beyond that to show your clients what makes you make them better. Talk about blowing the doors off your competition.

I have known a few top salespeople in their regions. They did it with finesse. They weren't pushy. They simply demonstrated how they, or their product could make the customers lives easier, more comfortable, more time-saving, or save them money. It's a beautiful thing to watch them in action. They don't even know they're being sold to. That's what our product does for you and your customers.
