Biz Tip of The Day: “Buzz Your Business & Be The Best” Who Should You Hire?

Biz Tip of The Day: “Buzz Your Business & Be The Best” who should you hire?:

A chapter 4 excerpt from “Buzz Your Business” by Marguerite Cavanaugh:

Your brother-in-law might be a great guy but it is a mistake to hire him unless he is qualified to do the best job for you in your business. Never hire someone simply because he/she is recommended by someone you like or respect. Recommendations are meant to be a reference; you need to check whether or not the person is qualified to do the work.

The manager in charge of hiring needs to take their time and not rush. It should be a process of elimination up front; fire before hiring. Set up some values such as content of character, talent, drive, energy level, attitude, and accomplishments. Don’t be overwhelmed by experience, rather examine their hurdles and accomplishments.

Biz Tip of The Day: "Buzz Your Business & Be The Best" Money-saving Tips

Biz Tip of The Day: “Buzz Your Business & Be The Best” money-saving tips:

A chapter 3 excerpt from “Buzz Your Business” by Marguerite Cavanaugh:

Making clients wealthier or somehow enriched by what you provide is your primary goal, but not at the expense of your own enrichment. You don’t want to undervalue your worth or that of your product.
You and your customers should be valuable to each other, otherwise, you will be out of business in short order. For you to hold up your end of the bargain you need to do everything you can to keep your costs down, while doing all you can to increase your bottom line. All of this has to be maintained at the same time you are delivering more than you promised to your customers. Nobody said it was going to be easy. You may need to enlist consultants from time to time. You can bring in consultants on an as-needed-basis which will help keep your overhead expenses down.
Early on, in your business you may need investment or financial advisers. Be sure to shop for the one which best suits your needs. Simply put, shop for an individual or a firm which does not charge transaction fees. It is best to pay flat fees whenever you can for such services. Why? It is human nature to think of ways to create multiple transactions to generate multiple fees. Paying a flat fee removes this temptation on the part of the financial adviser.

Biz Tip of The Day: “Buzz Your Business & Be The Best” Time-saving Tips

Biz Tip of The Day: “Buzz Your Business & Be The Best” time-saving tips:

A chapter 2 excerpt from “Buzz Your Business” by Marguerite Cavanaugh:

In order to keep from becoming overwhelmed, write down tasks on individual index cards, so you can easily prioritize them into “Action for Today,” and “Action for Tomorrow.”  When tomorrow rolls around, do the same thing again.
About twenty percent of what you have planned to do is most important on your list. Apply the Pareto principle. We know it as the Eighty/Twenty Rule of Thumb. It was originated by Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto in the nineteenth century. He observed how eighty percent of the results came from twenty percent of effort. The principle can be applied to a multitude of things in different ways. One such example is: When a carpet is vacuumed, about eighty percent of the dirt picked up is likely to come from twenty percent of the carpet, namely, the high traffic area.

Biz Tip of The Day: “Buzz Your Business & Be The Best” tips and insight:

An  excerpt from chapter 1 of “Buzz Your Business” by Marguerite Cavanaugh:

My purpose is to help you garner what awaits you. I like to see passion and success. Learn as much as you can; apply it, use it like it’s your own, and make me happy. The happiest person, when all is said and done, will be you; not to mention your family, partner(s), employees, and your clients. Even the government will be happy when you pay your taxes.

Every year there is new information and knowledge at hand for us to glean. With so much at our fingertips there is no longer any excuse for entrepreneurs to remain in the dark about what works and what doesn’t in order to run a successful business. I have been fortunate enough to find the information I have needed on my path to success and I have been blessed by having many successful mentors in my life; this is why I would like to pay some of this forward. I want to pave the way in making it easier for entrepreneurs to realize their full potential and avoid as many pitfalls as possible. I want you to be your best. I want you to get with it before your competition gets it all!

Biz Tip of The Day: An Introduction to “Buzz Your Business & Be The Best”:

An excerpt from chapter 1 of “Buzz Your Business” by Marguerite Cavanaugh:

It takes a special person to have the guts, fortitude, and passion to tackle the risks of entrepreneurship. Reading this book means you are a risk-taker. You are not alone; there are millions more with something to offer.  They have special talents, needs, wants, and the desire to run a successful business.
This book is easy to read; it gives many business basics some entrepreneurs may already be aware of but may not fully understand the importance. It takes you from the ground upwards. Sometimes in our haste, we entrepreneurs are too impatient to pay attention to details during the start-up of a new entrepreneurial venture. Buzz Your Business points this out and goes into some newer business ideas. These ideas may be so innovative it is possible the reader may be unfamiliar with them at this point.
In order to succeed in today’s tough business environment we need the impetus to dive in and take chances. It is important for us to be armed with the basic operating skills.
